I have the honor to forward for Your Lordship's information, copies of the correspondence between myself and the Court of Directors relative to the climate of Scutari and its effects upon the Troops, and to the Condition of the Harbour.

I much regret the difference of opinion between Sir Stratford Canning and myself upon the subject, and still more regret that such difference should have assumed in this correspondence a controversial character, but this had been happily settled so far as I am concerned, and it cannot be otherwise than satisfactory, that Enquiry has been made into the sufferings and losses of the men at Scutari.

The destruction of the Gt du Konze is perfectly distinct, been entrusted to this same Court and ordered to be investigated. I forward at the same time a copy of the Proceedings on this distressing occasion.

I concur entirely in the Opinions given by the Court on all heads, and the last mention is but a just tribute to Sir Stratford Canning.
